Just started watching SG-1 a month or two ago. Currently on season 3.
Why though are there so many episodes that focus on children?

@majormagna …which was exactly the point of my comment. I’ve watched the original movie and all of SG-1, I know what the symbol is in the context of the series, but I still pronounce it as such while acknowledging it should not be pronounced so.
@Anastius Really it doesn’t have a different pronunciation, it’s merely the point of origin symbol on the SGC stargate. It’s just there to look cool.

It is not a Å, it is the symbol for Earth.

the Å is reference to one of the chevrons used to dial the gate. I reckon its the chevron for the point of origin – earth.
the thing I don’t know is why they write Stargåte, when everybody pronounces it stargate. Å is an scandinavian letter, and I’m from Norway(Scandinavia) and A and Å isn not pronounced the same way at all.
